I often get messages from followers asking for restaurant recommendations in PE. Some specifically ask for great seafood restaurants at the beach, and sadly we don’t have any of those.

Yes, we have some restaurants at the beachfront, and though you might get a view of the ocean at some of them, it’s not the beach setting we are after (not to mention heir seafood is usually very disappointing too).

What I do recommend to these followers (and you!), is that you take a drive down to Cape St Francis for the BEST dining experience you could imagine.

CHICKEN CHORIZO PESTO PASTA BAKE 😍😁

A quick and easy dinner idea with Grocery Express. This dish comes together in no time and is guaranteed to satisfy all your pasta cravings. 😊
I visited the new Grocery Express store at 165 Mimosa Road in Fairview for all my ingredients. 🙌

The total cost of my basket came to just over R400. I only used half of the ingredients to make a meal for 4 people, so the below will feed 8 - that’s only R50 per meal! You should also be left with some Hollandaise sauce as you won’t be using the entire box (depending how saucy you like it of course). 😜

What you need for this pasta bake:

300g Chorizo
1kg Chicken fillets
125g Basil Pesto
1L Hollandaise sauce
500g Fusilloni 39 Pasta

Optional extra:
Cheese
Panko crumbs

Grocery Express has such a great variety of pastas to choose from, I loved using the giant Fusilloni - so fun!

To prepare, follow the steps in the video, serve and enjoy!

It’s December so I guess the Christmas recipes are coming out! How is it even December already!?

If you’ve followed me for a while you’ll know that I really don’t like trifle. I don’t know what it is because I eat every ingredient that goes into a trifle (on its own), I just can’t do it together. The texture? The look? Both? Dis ‘n bietjie morsig in my opinie.

Anyway, my go to Christmas dessert which also feeds a crowd is this Panna Cotta. Hy’s mos baie mooier as ‘n trifle!?

This recipe is quite popular on my website and gets a lot of views this time of year especially. I hate that I haven’t updated my website with all my latest recipes, but I promise to do better in the new year!

Chutney Mayo chicken will always remind me of my childhood. This is the first dish I learnt to cook and was also the first thing I made for Andre when we met some 22 years ago.

Sometimes I just want plain, simple, comforting food that takes me right back home, and this dish does exactly that.

If you’re after the same today, try this super easy recipe for which you only need a handful of ingredients!

INGREDIENTS:
8 Chicken pieces
1 Cup @excella_sa Tangy Mayonnaise
1 Cup Peach chutney
Salt & pepper

TO SERVE:
Fluffy @excella_sa rice
Green salad

METHOD:
- Place the chicken pieces into an ovenproof dish.

- Combine the mayonnaise and chutney and mix well.

- Cover the chicken in the mayonnaise / chutney mixture and season to taste.

- Cover the dish and place into a preheated oven. Cook at 190° C for 60 minutes. Remove the lid and cook for a further 10 to 15 minutes until the chicken is golden brown.

- Serve with fluffy Excella rice and a green salad on the side.

- Serves 4

Potato Salad is always a good idea. Roast Potato Salad is an even better idea.

Created for @excella_sa using their Tangy Mayonnaise, this Potato Salad is one you have to try.

INGREDIENTS
6 Potatoes
½ Cup oil
Salt
1 Tbsp rosemary
200g Streaky bacon
½ Cup Excella Tangy Mayonnaise
Juice of half a lemon
Salt & pepper
½ Cup fresh herbs of choice (recommend basil and chives)

METHOD
Peel and dice the potatoes. Place in an ovenproof dish and cover with oil. Season with salt and dried rosemary. Roast at 200 C for about an hour until golden and crispy.

Grease a baking tray with oil and add the bacon. Bake at 200° C for about 15 minutes, until crispy.

Place the roasted potatoes onto a serving dish. Chop the bacon and scatter over the potatoes.

Combine the mayonnaise and lemon juice and season to taste. Drizzle over the potatoes.

Finely chop the herbs, sprinkle over the salad and enjoy!

Serves 6 as a side.
