I’m all for convenience and time saving when it comes to weeknight dinners, so for this recipe I used already crumbed, frozen chicken wings.
It’s all in the sauce… The taste of your wings will be determined by the hot sauce you use, so please choose one that will not only leave you with a mouth full of blisters, but actually tastes like something.
Buffalo wings with Blue cheese dip
Equipment
- Air Fryer
Ingredients
- 16 crumbed chicken winglets
For the dip:
- 3 tbsp plain yoghurt
- 3 tbsp cottage cheese plain, smooth
- 3 tbsp mayonaise
- 50 grams blue cheese crumbled
- 1 clove garlic pressed
- 2 tbsp chives chopped
- squeeze of fresh lime juice
For the sauce:
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp hot sauce
- 2 tbsp honey / brown sugar
- 4 tbsp vinegar
- 3 tbsp water
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
Instructions
- Place the wings in the air fryer and cook at 200 for 20 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. If you don't have an air fryer you can just deep fry them.
- Prepare the blue cheese dip by combining all the ingredients and whisking well until a smooth consistency is achieved.
- In a small saucepan, over medium heat, melt the butter, then add the rest of the sauce ingredients and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, then as soon as the wings are ready, add them to the sauce and toss to get them all coated.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
